Kurpark gardens - centre of the spa resort Bad Kreuznach
Lying between the Nahe river and the mill canal, the Kurpark gardens became the town's hub for social gatherings over 150 years ago, when the town's first brine spring was opened here.
This wonderful park with lawns, flowerbeds and towering trees stretches from the wine pavillion at the Elisabethquelle spring- people came for years to drink the saline water - and the extensive grounds of the Kurhaus hotel. The park is surrounded by water, and a stroll along the promenade offers amazing views of the Nahe river and valley. A path lined with chestnut trees runs along the mill canal - a cool and quiet spot even on the hottest of summer days.
Take the opportunity to visit the salt mineral springs inhalation facility and inhale salt vapour at the smaller graduation walls or the brine nebuliser.
Music and dance lovers meet here during the season for concerts under the trees. The park hast its own dance floor and bandstand.
