Puppetry Museum Bad Kreuznach

This unique exhibition brings the history of puppet theater to life. The collection comprises more than 2,500 artistic individual figures. Its aim is to introduce you to the art form of puppet theater with sets of figures, theater pictures, and motifs. You will learn a lot about the puppet makers, puppeteers, and theater makers.
The exhibition spans the 19th-century traveling theater, permanent puppet stages, and television stars of the puppet scene such as Robbi, Tobbi, Bernd das Brot, and Herr von Bödefeld. As you walk through, you will discover the diversity of performance styles, puppet characters, and theater material for all age groups. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the PuK has made a name for itself with a constantly changing program of temporary exhibitions.
In 2005, the city of Bad Kreuznach created a contemporary museum with a theater and puppet workshop in the former granary of an agricultural estate built in 1899, covering an area of 1,500 square meters. You can not only view the artistic puppet theater ensemble, but also experience it at festivals and regular performances. This art form has something to offer for every age group: the depth of the literary material, the design of the puppets, and the virtuosity of the puppeteering will captivate you.
