Ebernburg Castle

Ebernburg Castle has towered over the town of the same name for more than 500 years and looks back on an eventful history. It was destroyed several times during wars of turmoil, but was rebuilt each time. It played an important role not only during the Reformation (see Hutten-Sickingen monument). Today, the castle houses a family education center, a restaurant, and the scientific library of the Ebernburg Foundation. There is also a small exhibition on the history of the castle. The castle's current appearance is largely the result of its reconstruction in the 19th century. Further renovation was necessary after the destruction of World War II.
