Enjoy and experience
With 207 hectares of cultivable land, Bad Kreuznach is one of the largest wine-growing communities in the area and home to a number of prize winning wine-growing estates, which are becoming more and more popular even beyond national borders.
The town is the junction point between the wine-growing areas of Rhine-Hesse on the one hand and Nahe on the other.
A very mild and dry climate characterize the Nahe region – a prerequisite for the excellent wine that has been grown here since Roman times. The wine thrives on a variety of different types of stony earth and soil and has thus developed a large range of character traits. The most popular types of vine are Riesling, Müller-Thurgau and Silvaner. Grauburgunder and Dornfelder are also of excellent quality.
Lovers of fresh food will no doubt enjoy visiting the weekly market on corn market square (Tuesdays and Fridays) or the market in the old part of town (Saturdays). A cup of steaming coffee, espresso or tea to round off your shopping trip is a must. The cafés and bistros are just waiting to greet you as a guest.
