Excursions in the region
The town’s surrounding area is very attractive. Bad Kreuznach is also known as the gate to the “mild west” – this saying shows what you can expect to see in the countryside outside the town: beautiful scenery with gentle hills, steep cliffs, many forests, idyllic valleys with streams, vineyards, picturesque villages and much evidence of the region’s turbulent past. We have listed a few destinations which are well worth a visit.
(emperor’s Palate) KaiserpfalzIngelheimCharlemagne used to enjoy the climate on the Rhine. Ingelheim was the site of his and his descendents’ palace. Today, remains and an exhibition with a computer simulated tour remind us of it.
