Salt water is the most important cure available in Bad Kreuznach. The water, which has a salt content of 1,5 to 2 % is pumped to the surface from a depth of 500 metres. Salt water has been used successfully in the treatment of various symptoms since 1817. Treatment today is in the form of baths and inhalation.

The salt water spray in the spa area of town ensure liberating deep breaths. In addition to the open-air salt water spray there is an inhalation room available in the Crucenia Health Centre, in which salt water can be inhaled at separate apparatuses in pure or medically enriched form depending on the prescription.
